Overview

SearchDeck is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our Chrome extension and website.

The short version: We don't collect, store, or transmit your personal data to any servers. Everything stays on your device.

Information We Don't Collect

SearchDeck does not collect:

  • Your search queries
  • Your browsing history
  • Personal information (name, email, etc.)
  • IP addresses
  • Device identifiers
  • Any analytics or tracking data

Local Data Storage

SearchDeck stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome's storage API:

  • Watchlist domains: Domains you've marked as favorites
  • Hidden domains: Domains you've chosen to hide
  • Notes: Any notes you've added to domains or URLs
  • Settings: Your preferences (grid view toggle, etc.)
  • License key: If you've purchased Pro (stored locally)

This data never leaves your device. We cannot access it, and it is not transmitted to any server.

Sponsor Cards

Free users see sponsor cards. These are fetched from a static JSON file hosted on our website. This request:

  • Does not include any personal information
  • Does not track your identity
  • Does not log IP addresses
  • Simply delivers sponsor content to display

When you click a sponsor card, you are briefly redirected through our website before reaching the sponsor's page. This redirect page uses analytics (Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics) to track:

  • Which sponsor was clicked (sponsor ID only)
  • Standard analytics data (page views, browser type, country)

This helps us understand which sponsors provide value to our users. No personal information is collected during this redirect.

Pro users can disable sponsor cards entirely.

License Validation

When you activate a Pro license key:

  • The license key is sent to DodoPayments for validation
  • No personal information is sent with this request
  • Once validated, the key is stored locally on your device
  • Subsequent uses do not require re-validation

Website

Our website (searchdecks.com) uses minimal analytics to understand how visitors use our site:

  • Google Analytics: For understanding page views, traffic sources, and general usage patterns
  • Vercel Analytics: For performance monitoring and basic visitor statistics

These services collect standard analytics data (page views, browser type, country, referrer) but do not collect personally identifiable information. We do not use tracking pixels or any form of user identification beyond what these services provide.

Third-Party Services

SearchDeck uses the following third-party services:

  • DodoPayments: For processing Pro license purchases. See their privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts: For loading the Inter font family.
  • Google Favicons API: For displaying website favicons (public API, no tracking).

Data Export & Deletion

You have full control over your data:

  • Export: Use the Settings page to export all your data as JSON
  • Delete: Use "Clear All Data" in Settings, or uninstall the extension

Since all data is stored locally, uninstalling the extension removes all SearchDeck data.

Children's Privacy

SearchDeck is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date.
